Nice lazy weekend around Seattle. We spent one day at the Washington Wine Highway at Chateau St. Michelle with the Tanners and the next on the boat with The Hirata/Woods and The Schells. Great weather in Seattle??? What?
Hot day on the Yakima with Pat and his lab Macy. She was more interested in the little yellow strike indicator than retrieving sticks. Unfortunately, the fish weren't quite as interested as the dog but we'll get em next time. Better than being at the office.
After a long drive from San Diego, the Tanners made it to Seattle just in time for our backyard launch party. Nala the dog was there too. We also celebrated Jollyne's birthday...a bit belated. Another fun night with the in laws! Good food and even better wine.
The much anticipated guys trip to the Smith River in Montana was a success but didn't go without a minor mishap when launching the boats in the abnormally high and fast river. The first boat went in a little fast and took on some water and subsequently our dry bags, cooler and a few other very important items popped out and started floating downstream. My first thought was that the trip was over but Ryan and Ben hopped into action and chased down all the gear. Amazing. Beautiful 4 day, 59 mile float. Not many fish to speak of enough to keep us interested. Attendees: David Rhoades, Ryan Sullivan, Ben Elliott and me. Great trip guys. Next time we'll bring the ladies!
Great trip to Trophy Lake Golf Club with Chris and Aimee. Huge fish in the lake and beautiful golf course. Just for the record...and according to our scorecard The Dents beat up on the Hirata/Wood contingent.
Nat did a great job on the event this year. Good to see my Mom and the Tanners. Accidentally bought a live auction item...wooops. It's for the children though. Wine consumption might have played a roll in the nervous paddle raise.
Em, Bret and the little nephews were up for the weekend to visit us. We took the kids to the aquarium where the adults contracted every virus known to man. We were all sick for the next week or so...sweet. Little Timmy had an accident on the hotel floor and then proceeded to dance around in the mess. At that moment, Nat and I began to question our own plans of having one of those things some day.
